Summer Data Coordinator

Position Summary
The Summer Data Coordinator will be responsible for supporting summer out-of-school-time programs to ensure that data is complete and accurate. The Summer Data Coordinator will be tasked with collecting, monitoring, cleaning, and reporting on summer attendance and enrollment data in addition to providing technical assistance to programs to improve their data collection practices. The Summer Data Coordinator will support all programs funded by the Baltimore Summer Funding Collaborative.

Essential Functions

  • Provide training to 90 programs in collecting the required enrollment and attendance data via the Excel template and in gathering and recording signed consent forms.
  • Merge data from 90 programs into a Summer OST master data sheet on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure enrollment and attendance data within the master data sheet is clean
  • Identify Summer OST programs with missing, incomplete, or poor quality data
  • Support Summer OST programs (via phone and in-person site visits) in collection, entry, and submission of high quality data.
  • Conduct regular analysis on Summer OST attendance data.
  • Work with Baltimore Education Research Consortium and Baltimore City Public Schools Office of Achievement & Accountability to submit the data needed to conduct mid-summer matches of enrollment records to City Schoolsí data
  • Present program-level mid-summer match rates to programs and support programs in increasing match rates.
  • Produce mid- and end-of-summer clean Summer OST master data sheets
  • Produce one final report on Summer 2017 OST program attendance.
  • Produce one final report on Summer 2017 OST Program BCPS match rates (in collaboration with BERC and OAA)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director of Data & Evaluation


Education & Experience Requirements

  • Commitment to working with a diverse team on implementing culturally inclusive practices and participating in dialogue on equity in the communities served.
  • Expertise and practical experience in data collection, data cleaning, and data analysis
  • Bachelorís Degree in public health, economics, information management, or related discipline preferred 
  • Minimum of 2 yearsí relevant experience managing data (including data collection, data entry, the development of data processes, providing technical assistance, and writing reports)
  • Understanding of data collection and data processes
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, reporting and calendaring software. 
  • Related work experience in and knowledge of the Baltimore Out of School Time community preferred
  • Demonstrated writing and public speaking skills; excellent communicator who enjoys building partnerships and working with a variety of programs and individuals
  • High standards regarding accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to use experience and good judgment to make appropriate decisions
  • Aptitude for organizing tasks, managing time, and prioritizing projects; work effectively and efficiently with staff and adjust to changing priorities
  • Must have a strong commitment to the mission and vision of Family League
  • Baltimore City residency strongly preferred.

Travel Requirements
Ability to independently travel throughout Baltimore City to program sites as needed.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Additional Information
This is a seasonal position, from June 1-August 31, 2017.
This is a part-time position, working an average of 20-30 hours per week.
This position is eligible for a cell phone stipend in the amount of $60/month.
Hourly wage is $20.00
